Perhaps you have come across your glue bottles that want to fight you when it comes time to open them.
Those occasions when you pull so hard that the whole top comes off then you have to put it back on.
The glue dries as in the third photo and makes this simple task more difficult.
I would like to say I invented this easy and silly fix but I found it in one of my favorite magazines The Family Handyman. It was one of the “tips” posted in the February 2016 issue. I thought it looked pretty good.
Scrap wood from old projects cut to 3/8” thick and a 5/8” forstner bit gets it done pretty quickly. The tops now pop open easily and you can still get the glue where you want it to be….....................
